Stephen is a Partner of Samuels Financial and started the business over 30 years ago. Stephen is a fully qualified chartered accountant and a chartered financial adviser and has been successfully helping business owners and individuals with all their financial needs throughout his career. Having experienced the issues that business owners and individuals face when starting and running a business, Stephen is ideally placed to develop proven financial strategies for a wide range of situations and clients.
Stephen started his career at Price Waterhouse Coopers as a graduate trainee; he subsequently worked in another accountancy firm before qualifying and starting his own business. Stephen’s experience in business and the financial services industry is of great benefit to his clients, many of whom come to him through existing client referrals.
Alex is a Partner within Samuels Financial; he is a fully qualified chartered financial planner who specialises in working with professionals, business owners, directors and key personnel within businesses.
Alex started his career working in business development roles with several start-up companies. His role included working alongside the business’ directors to develop and implement strategies for moving their businesses forward. Alex started his own consultancy practice before moving into financial services and joining Samuels Financial.
Alex now advises clients on a wide range of financial products to make sure their individual needs are met. By working closely with his clients, Alex can ensure that their business and personal needs are covered and this allows them to focus on the areas in which they specialise and grow from strength to strength.
Matthew is a Financial Adviser within Samuels Financial; he joined the company in June 2013 as a Paraplanner having previously worked for another Financial Advisory firm. Matthew is a fully diploma qualified Financial Adviser, and is currently working towards becoming chartered.
Matthew started working within the financial services profession in January 2012 after achieving a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in Business with Finance at Northumbria University. During his time spent as a Paraplanner, Matthew has attained extensive technical knowledge that is utilised when creating appropriate solutions for his clients’ needs.
Matthew provides advice on a wide range of financial products which cover all areas of wealth management including retirement planning, investment planning, corporate financial planning, protection of wealth and inheritance tax and estate planning.
Jenny joined Samuels Financial in February 2016. Prior to joining the company, Jenny spent her time running a busy household and looking after her four daughters Demie-Leigh, Katelyn, Phoebe and Lilly-Mae.
In her spare time, Jenny loves regular weekends away at her caravan in Windy Harbour, Blackpool and spending quality time with her family.
Nicola joined the company in 2011 having previously worked as a Paraplanner for a national financial advisory firm. Nicola holds the certificate in Financial Planning and Mortgages and is currently taking further exams in order to achieve her Chartered status.
Nicola started working in financial services at the age of 18 as an Administrative Assistant and decided to take her career further and progressed to a Paraplanner position in 2009. Nicola is the Senior Paraplanner and Head of Compliance for Samuels Financial.
When she is not working, Nicola can be found exploring the British Isles. She also enjoys keeping fit, reading, cooking and walking in the country with her dogs.
Caroline has over 24 years’ experience in financial services ranging from Secretary/PA, Administrator, IFA, Compliance Manager and has worked for a St. James's Place Partner as an Administrator since 2010. Caroline joined Samuels Financial as Paraplanner to Stephen Samuels in July 2016. Caroline has a broad range of experience within the financial services profession and adds a lot of value to the team and our clients. Caroline strives to give great customer service whilst working hard to achieve her goals with St. James's Place and personally.
Caroline has been married to Michael for 15 years and enjoys the benefits of being married to an owner of a Retail Travel Agency. Caroline has a love for travel and her blue roan cocker spaniel Harvey.
Tracey joined the company in June 2016 after taking a 2 year break from work to spend time with her son, Matthew. Tracey started working in the financial services industry in 1994 and qualified as a financial adviser in 1999. She holds the IFS Diploma for Financial Advisers.
When she is not working, Tracey enjoys going on holiday and spending time with her family and friends.
Liza joined Samuels Financial is September 2015 having previously worked for another Partner of St. James's Place Wealth Management for 13 years. Liza has built up a wealth of experience in the Financial Services industry and has exceptional client relationship skills.
In her role as an Executive Assistant Liza works closely with both Stephen and Alex to undertake a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks.
When Liza is not working she enjoys spending time with her three children Mia, Jack and Brie.
Emma joined Samuels Financial in November 2017 as a Senior Administrator. Emma has previously worked within ethical investing and has also worked for two independent financial advice companies.
In her spare time Emma enjoys baking, watching football and spending time with her family and friends.
Mark joined the company in May 2017 as an Administrator having previously worked in the financial service industry with a pension provider for two years. Prior to this, Mark graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management.
In his spare time Mark enjoys playing football and golf and he also loves the occasional snowboarding trip.
Karen joined Samuels Financial in October 2016 as an administrator. Previously Karen worked as a Client Adviser in general insurance for 20 years.
When Karen is not working, she enjoys keeping fit, going on holidays and spending time with friends.
Mike has a financial services background working as a Regional Manager for the HSBC Group for over seventeen years. He has an honours degree in Business Administration from Salford University and specialises in Business Development, Partner Relationships and Sales Strategy and CRM.
Mike’s remit includes lead generation, driving the practice’s growth and is involved in strategy meetings.
Mike has been married for seventeen years and has two children aged eight and fifteen. In his spare time Mike enjoys going to the gym, mountain biking and socialising with friends.
